With the increasing news and concern regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus, Taylors wants to ensure our clients that we are monitoring the developing situation and have resources in place to provide continued service in any type of contingency situation.
Diners around the world are currently reassessing their relationship with restaurants, fast-food spots, neighborhood pizzerias and even remote site dining such as Gulf of Mexico offshore platforms while the coronavirus makes its rounds. Public health experts say restaurants are just as safe — and perhaps even safer — than other public spaces, such as buses, subways and event venues.
According to health officials, there is no indication that the coronavirus can be transmitted with food. However, of concern are diners who encounter food servers who may be ill and the hard surfaces you encounter in a dining facility, such as menus, utensils, salt shakers, ketchup bottles, etc.
Please take comfort in the fact that Taylors has been meeting and exceeding food safety and sanitation standards since 1996. We already have stringent safety protocols in place, including guidance from ServeSafe®. We also work within safety compliance of our clients’ requests for additional testing criteria. Taylors utilizes antimicrobial/disinfectant products released by the EPA that qualify under the emerging viral pathogen program for use against COVID-19.
Our foodservice supply chain has not been impacted. We, and many organizations and researchers, are continually monitoring for developments.
We have taken proactive precautions and stepped up our day-to-day vigilance to combat this new threat. We will continue to monitor the news and any reports or requirements from the CDC and local, state and federal governments. Our focus, dedication, and support are unwavering as we navigate these unique times. We hope you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy.
